Jet Billing System Modules
Jet is designed around a central core (the base Jet system) to which extra modules can be added as appropriate. The modules listed below are standard Jet modules which plug in to the core system without requiring any customisation.
New modules are continually being developed in response to customer needs. If you have a particular functionality in mind that isn't listed here, please contact us to discuss development of a custom module to provide the features you need.
Multiple Realms
A license for Jet includes a single Realm. More Realms may be added to Jet as required, in the following combinations:
- Upgrade single Realm to 5 Realms
- Upgrade 5 realms to 30 Realms
- Additional 10-Realm license blocks
(above 30 Realms)
Standard Modules
RADIUS support
RADIUS support is built into Jet and is included in both the Enterprise and Lite versions. The in-built RADIUS server may be used stand-alone, or in high-volume environments may be used as a RADIUS proxy to an external RADIUS server.
Radiator RADIUS server
For high-volume environment, you may wish to use an external RADIUS server for authentication and usage collection. We recommend and resell Radiator, a highly configurable and flexible RADIUS server developed in Australia by Open System Consultants.
Netflow module
Provides support for devices using Cisco NetFlow protocol for collection of usage data via flowtools.
SSG module
Provides support for network devices using Cisco Service Selection Gateway (SSG) protocol for collection of usage data.
Voice billing module
Provides support for billing of telephony services (VoDSL, VoIP, etc.), including import of standard call detail records (CDRs).
LDAP module
Provides support for authentication of users against an external LDAP database.
IP Management module
Enables management of your IP address ranges within Jet, including mapping of static IPs to individual customers and allocation of IP blocks to pools of dynamic IP customers.
Location Manager module
Provides the ability to manage multiple access locations, as well as mapping of user login locations to enable differential billing based on login location. Usually used in environments where user roaming is supported, such as wireless hotspots or combined fixed/wireless access plans (e.g. DSL + wireless hotspot access).
Advanced Modules
Oracle® Database module
This module enables replacing the default MySQL database backend with an Oracle® database for enterprise customers who require Oracle® database support.
Please note that use of this module requires an Oracle® database license, which is not included.
Redundancy module (with failover support)
This module enables support for a second server running Jet as a hot standby. Automated failover to the hot standby is triggered in the event of a failure on the primary server. Also enables database replication to ensure that the hot standby has current data.
High Availability module (with clustering support)
This module enables clustering support, enabling enhanced scalability for high-volume environments. Jet can be scaled independently at both the front-end (web server cluster) and back-end (database cluster). For ultimate scalability, this module may be combined with the Oracle® database module.
